Meet Joel
Hi, Iām Joel. I have twenty years of experience working with teenagers, college-aged students, and young adults as a school counselor, mentor and small group leader. I have been in private practice for four years.
My areas of professional interest include relationship issues, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, spiritual formation, marriage and family conflicts, as well as organization and time management.
I use a variety of approaches including, but not limited to, strengths-based strategies, solution focused counseling, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I believe that the client and counselor relationship is critical to understanding emotions, beliefs and behaviors, and either inhibit or bring about fullness of living.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor, and have earned a M.Ed. in Secondary School Counseling from Shippensburg University.
I have a passion for faith, learning, and the outdoors. My hope is that in our work together, my clients will be empowered to find their true identity and live whole and free lives in their relationships, pursuits and places of work.
I offer in-person therapy exclusively with older teens, young adults, adult couples and adult individuals. You can reach me at: joel@riverstonecounselingserv.com
